IP Communications: Motama Expands TVCaster Product FamilyDecember 13, 2011

At a time when IPTV (News In addition, four new products have been added to the existing TVCaster product family. Motama recently announced the immediate availability of the newly launched products. With these enhancements, Motama's TVCaster product family now provides support for DVB-C and offers customized servers with arbitrary combinations of DVB-S2, -C and -T inputs, company officials pointed out. Motama’s TVCaster is a feature-packed turn-key solution offering a range of cutting-edge functionality of integrated DVB receiver, descrambler, remultiplexer, and IP streaming server, packed in a single solution. All TV and radio channels received from DVB can be forwarded individually as IP streams with up to 700 Mbps of outgoing bandwidth. At this bandwidth, users enjoy enough resources for streaming each channel several times. Taken together, all TVCaster servers seamlessly combine to create a scalable cluster of streaming appliances. The number of tuners can simply be extended with additional appliances at any time, Motama explained in a release. Through free Software Development Kit (SDK), based on the award-winning Network-Integrated Multimedia Middleware (NMM) by Motama, customers can easily access and configure all features of the servers. It also includes source code for a streaming client demonstrating ultra-fast channel switching, the company officials informed. According to Motama, the SDK is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. In other industry news, in an effort to bring a powerful but affordable PBX (News - Alert) solution to small and big businesses nationwide, IP communications company AireSpring (News - Alert) has readied a new cloud hosted IP PBX solution. Called AirePBX, it offers the same feature-rich functionality as the service provider’s popular Dymanic X SMB small business product, but with no hardware to buy, install, configure, host, or maintain, according to AireSpring officials.
