Broadview Networks (News - Alert), a provider of hosted voice, data and cloud computing solutions, has enhanced its cloud-based phone service, OfficeSuite, with new features including business hour management, distinctive ring and automatic call distribution (ACD).
The upgraded features are offered at no additional cost.
"Because Broadview owns the patented code behind the OfficeSuite technology, we can easily add, modify and upgrade features at any time," said Brian Crotty, chief operating officer at Broadview, in a statement. "This allows us to tailor our products and their features based on customer feedback and to provide a more personal, intuitive, high-quality solution."
With the new business hour management, customers can now set up their own call handling rules for different phones, and even for different office locations, based on business hours. The service is useful for employees working in shifts or multi-site businesses.
The distinctive ring helps organizations assign different ring tones to their desk phones for different types of calls.
The Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) sign in/sign out feature allows customers to program their desk phones for one-touch login and logout of ACD queues.
The company also announced new equipment options including Color Touch-Screen LCD Phone, LCD Phone, and Wireless Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT (News - Alert)) handset and headset.
The Color Touch-Screen LCD Phone comes with a full-color, touch-screen LCD display, 48 programmable self-labeling keys across three pages, a full-duplex speakerphone, a variety of supported peripherals and an integrated 10/100/1000 switch for use in Gigabit LAN environments.
The DECT handset and headset can be paired with various OfficeSuite desk phones, giving employees the freedom and flexibility to move around the office without missing calls. DECT handsets and headsets operate up to a radius of 300 feet and provide better voice quality than standard Bluetooth.
Recently, Broadview Networks announced it has been ranked 28th on this year's InformationWeek 500, an annual list of the top technology innovators in the U.S. Broadview received the honor for its innovative e-Care Enterprise customer self-service portal, and again in 2011 for CustView, its cross-functional analytics application.
